A Week With Casinacho Games
I didn't expect to write much about Casinacho Games. It's a casual bundle of quick mini-games, the sort of thing I usually try once and forget. Instead it quietly earned a spot on my home screen, and I think it's worth explaining why.
The whole design is built around short bursts. Each mini-game resolves in under a minute, which sounds trivial until you realize how many apps forget that people play in gaps. Waiting for a train, standing in a queue, that half-minute before a meeting starts. Casinacho Games fits all of those perfectly.
Controls are as simple as they come. Single taps and short swipes handle everything, so your thumb never has to fight an on-screen joystick. I played a lot of it one-handed on a crowded tram without once fumbling an input.
My only real note is that depth isn't the point here. If you want a long progression curve, this isn't it. But as a palette-cleanser between heavier games, it does exactly what it sets out to do, and the bright presentation keeps it from feeling stale.
If you try it, don't overthink it. Pick whichever mini-game looks fun in the moment and just tap. That's the whole philosophy, and it works.
