The Case for One-Handed Games
Some of my favorite mobile sessions happen with one hand busy holding a coffee or a tram pole. Games that work with a single thumb quietly become the ones I return to most, even if they aren't the deepest on my phone.
Casinacho Games is a good example of this done right, with its simple taps and swipes that never ask for precise two-handed inputs. Neon Drift Rally also handles it surprisingly well once you switch to touch steering.
The design lesson is restraint. When a developer resists cramming the screen with buttons, the game becomes usable in far more moments of your day. Accessibility and convenience often come from the same place.
So next time you're stuck somewhere with one free hand, look for these games. They turn dead time into something a little more fun.
